Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
It is important for the church to be ready for the return of our King. How do we get ready?
- We must be continually washed with the Word of God (Eph 5:27). Husbands who represent Christ are charged with the duty of washing their wives (model of the church) with the Word.
- We must be regularly gathering in the church (Heb 10:25). We are not the church when we are home alone. When we gather the blood cleanses us (1Jn 1:7).
- We end wrong habits so that we will be wrinkle-free.
There are three that are provided to us for our victory and empowerment (1Jn 5:8):
- The Water – the Word of God. It washes us clean (Jn 13:6-10).
- The Blood – it never loses any battle when it is applied effectively and efficiently. The blood sanctifies us spiritually and physically (Eph 1:7). The blood is the life light of man (Jn 1:4-5). The life of everything is in the blood (Lev 17:11). The blood of Jesus has been given for us – for our atonement. It is an offence to God if He doesn't see the blood in our prayers (Ex 12:13). Cain and Esau didn't apply blood and they became enemies of God (Mal 1:2-3).
- The Spirit – He is always available when you use the blood rightly. The Spirit brings new life to any area of lack or fallow ground (Rom 8:14). The Spirit can do all things – that is His job (Luk 1:34-37). In the ministry of Jesus (which is our ministry too) the government (authority) shall have no end (Is 9:7). Because the zeal of the Lord (the Holy Spirit) will perform it.
A born-again believer is very powerful. Don't leave things and think that God will do them. He has empowered you and told you to go in His name. Now you are light, be careful not to combine with darkness, because it will always hurt you (2Cor 6:14).
As we enter this new year let's declare over our lives the blessings that Jesus won for us by His blood: Revelation 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
