Isaiah 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Before a special celebration there is always preparation. Now is the time for the church to prepare for Jesus return. The King is Coming. Before a great man arrives Heralds go ahead to announce the news. John the Baptist was the forerunner before Jesus came the first time. God is calling you to be a forerunner announcing the second coming is near.
Jesus was our forerunner who went ahead of us to heaven to prepare a place for us to be together (Heb 6:19-20, Jn 14:2-3). He entered, even behind the veil, on our behalf to make a sacrifice and proclamation. This is our victory of victories.
How do we prepare for His return? John the Baptist is our example, he came in the spirit and power of Elijah (Luk 1:17) to prepare the way. We need to tell others. We need to keep standing. We need to keep ourselves ready – don't be like the foolish virgins (Matt 25:3). Don't miss the second coming.
You were born at this time in history to be His messenger. Resist the devil (Jam 4:7), the great deceiver (Rev 12:9). Associate with Christ. Be a light. Preach the Gospel of the Kingdom everywhere.
